TEATRO STAGE FEST IS HERE!

On Monday the highly anticipated TeatroStageFest kicked off for a week long celebration of Latino culture and heritage. The Latino International Theater Festival of New York, Inc.presents the third annual TeatroStageFest, which brings to NYC the best productions the U.S., Latin America, and Spain have to offer.

The Festival kicked off its celebrations on Monday with the Opening of  Broadway’s R.Evolución Latina starring performers and musicians from In The Heights along with other talented Broadway performers.   What's most compelling about the festival is that there's a list of different plays appropriate for different age groups and interests. I'm personally looking forward to seeing  "Third Wing" and "December" which are two of the cutting edge productions from South America that will be featured in the festival.  I think this is an amazing opportunity to become immersed by some of the most original contemporary playswrights and directors from Argentina and Chile.  Fun fact:  The production of "Third Wing" in Buenos Aires are performed in Claudio Tolcachir's own living room and 30 eager people line up nightly outside his home to watch his shows!  If you're looking for a comedy night with a mix of spanglish humor make sure to checkout "Long Island Iced Latina" and "Pardon My Spanglish:  Porque Because!"  Both shows are sure to deliver an evening of high energy combined with humourous anecdotes on bi-culturalism and the dilemmas of Latino life in the U.S.A.

The Festival also salutes the passion and high energy of Latino performing arts through dancing with Pregones Theater’s "Dancin’ in Da Bronx" and "Glamour Tango." Children can embark on the adventure of a lifetime with a whimsical show of the larger than life puppet production "Open Sesame."  And thats only part of it!  There will also be lectures and cultural discussion panels that are free of entry to the public.  Don't miss out on this amazing festival!  For more information click here:  TeatroStageFest
